Description

Henri Waisman, a researcher at the French Institute of Sustainable Development and International Relations (IDDRI), analyses the relationship between the Paris Climate Agreement and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, both adopted in 2015. He shows that meeting the SDGs will become more difficult as global warming worsens, and then studies, in development terms, the implications of different scenarios aiming to achieve carbon neutrality by the middle of the century.

Learning Objectives:

- Understand the relationship between the Paris Climate Agreement and the 17 SDGs
- Learn, thanks to the SDGs, the possibilities for carbon neutrality by the middle of the century
